Hello Salt Lake City Weekender fam! 🌟 Thank you so much for your patience and we apologize for the radio silence over the past two months. Life threw some unexpected curveballs, and we took a brief hiatus. Thank you so much for the kind messages encouraging us to come back!
We're back and more pumped than ever to be your go-to source for weekend vibes in Salt Lake City! Apologies for the quiet, but get ready for a blast of events, excitement, and all things awesome. Let's make up for lost time and dive into the weekend together!

What’s going on this weekend:
Thursday, January 11th:
Birding on Skis: at Alta. Join Tracy Aviary’s expert birders this winter on skis in search of our feathered friends that call Alta home. Held on the second and fourth Thursday of each month. Tours will meet at the bottom of Collins lift at 8:50am.
Karaoke at the Thirsty Squirrel at Solitude Resort: Warm up your pipes and dust off your dance moves for karaoke at The Thirsty Squirrel. 4pm - 9pm. Free.
Trivia at Second Summit Cider Co: Two rounds of trivia each night, starting at 7pm and 8pm which means there are two chances to win! Grab a team and put those brains to work! Free.
Sound Healing and Journaling: These meditations are designed to reduce stress, promote relaxation and rejuvenation throughout the mind, body, and spirit. Thursdays at 7:30pm at Synchronicities. Tickets are $33.
Bourbon Whiskey Tasting: at the Westerner. Each ticket includes a themed, educational whiskey tasting presentation with three whiskeys paired with small bites, printed tasting notes, and a professional lecture led by Sommelier, Jim Santangelo, owner of Wine Academy of Utah. Ticket holders are welcome to stay after class for FREE country swing dance lessons. Tickets are $45.
New Moon Ritual: Join for a new moon ritual filled with meditations, affirmations, and manifestations! The Pleiadian Altar. Free.
Wasatch Improv Festival: runs all weekend at different venues. Laugh along with improv troupes from all over the country. $12 a show or $25 for the entire weekend pass.
Friday, January 12th:
Ski with a Ranger: at Alta. Join a Volunteer Naturalist Ranger from the Cottonwood Canyons Foundation for an informative and fun learning experience. Meet at the top of Sunnyside lift at 1pm.
Trivia at the Thirsty Squirrel: Solitude Mountain Settle in for an après experience at The Thirsty Squirrel. 3:30pm-5:30pm. It’s free to play.
Comedy Show: at WhyKiKi. Show starts at 7pm. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door.
The Blockbusters: at Redemption Grill. Performing all your favorite Rock, Pop, Grunge, Rap and R&B hits from the 90's! Starts at 9pm. Entry is $15 cash.
Saturday, January 13th:
Family D&D Themed Bingo: Bring your adventuring party, halflings and all, down to Level 1 Gamers in Sandy for some fun family bingo! Admission is $5 per person, kids 5 and under are free, and includes 1 bingo card per person. Additional cards can be purchased for $5 each. Starts at 2pm.
Geology Ski Tour: Enjoy an informative guided ski and snowboard tour around Solitude resort studying rock formations and learning the history of how Solitude was formed. Meet as Base of Apex Express Lift at 12pm.
Bewilder Brewing Four Year Anniversary Party: Come help us celebrate Bewilder's fourth birthday. We will have food specials, entertainment, and of course plenty of beer!
Dinner and Drag Show: At WhyKiki. Saturday nights. Seating Starts at 7 pm, Show Begins 8pm.
Torchlight Parade & Fireworks Show: Alphorn concert starts at 3pm followed by an hour-long children’s magic show. Following the show, the group heads outside to watch Solitude staff members ride down the mountain as a synchronized, torch-lit team. New this season, the torchlight parade will be followed by a fireworks celebration. Guests who prefer to view the torchlight parade only are welcome to arrive at 6:30 p.m. Free.
Johnny's Dance Party: at Black Lion Events. Tickets are $10 or Wear anything that "Glitters" For $2 off. Karaoke from 7pm-9pm and dancing from 9pm-12:30am.
Cosplay Night: at the Midway Bar. Wear your favorite costume or just come and be entertained. $5 cover charge.
Sunday, January 14th:
Solitude Dispatch and Patrol Shack Tour: Take a peek behind the scenes of what goes into keeping our mountain safe with a guided tour of Solitude's dispatch office and Powderhorn patrol shack. Tours begin at 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. at the base of Apex Express. Intermediate skiing or riding skills are required to visit Powderhorn patrol shack. The dispatch office tour is suitable for all skill levels.
Sunday Drag Brunch: at Why Kiki. Show starts at 12pm and tickets are $20.
Wheeler Sunday Market: Indoor Winter Farmers Market is the perfect place to find everything you need to make your winter months both delicious and memorable. every Sunday from January to March 17th, 2024, 9am to 1pm. Free.
Urban Flea Market: the first Urban Flea Market of the New Year at The Gateway. 65 vendors offering the best eclectic and unique vintage and antique finds. Local crafters provide cool handcrafted and upcycled vintage items. 10am-4pm. $3 entry.
Crafting Spell Candles Workshop: at Cat and Cauldron. Tickets are $25 and includes all materials.
Sunday Night Comedy Show: Crowdsourced Comedy takes over the Why Kiki stage! Scenes, characters, and jokes are made up on the spot, all based off audience suggestions. 'Who's Line is it Anyway?' style! Show starts at 7pm and Tickets are $5.
