What’s going on this weekend:

Thursday, February 29th:

  • When Skis Were Skinny and So Were We: Your host Dobber Price—a former Peruvian employee—shares his experiences through two 12-minute Super 8 movies, along with footage of the devastating 1978 avalanche that hit the Peruvian Lodge. At Alta’s Peruvian Lodge. Starts at 5pm.

  • Dune Part Two Premiere: at Brewvies Cinema Pub. Opening night showtimes at 5pm and 8:30pm. 

  • Paints and Pints: at the Westerner. Create something special while enjoying food and drinks, then stay after class for free swing dancing lessons. 6pm-8:30pm. Tickets are $30. Materials and step-by-step instructions are provided.

  • Leap into Spring Bike Clinic: Join WomenMTB and Bingham Cyclery for spring bike maintenance clinic. This clinic will focus on getting your bike ready after it has been sitting all winter. Starts at 6:30pm. Class is $10.

  • Matisyahu: at The Depot. 7pm. Tickets are $70.

  • Breaking Bingo: at Second Summit Cider. Free to play Bingo! 5 rounds of bingo with plenty of chances to win prizes. 5th round has a cash jackpot. Starts at 7pm.

  • Disney On Ice: Frozen & Encanto: at The Delta Center. 7pm. $42. Runs all weekend.

  • Punk Rock Open Mic: Live bands and leap onstage between sets and play your song. At Aces High Saloon. Starts at 8pm.

Friday, March 1st:

  • Salt Lake Off-Road and Outdoor Expo: check out the Trucks, Jeeps, Side by Sides, ATVs, bikes and gear at the Mountain America Expo Center. 11am-9pm. Entry is $12.

  • CONQUERED: The comedy competition show!: at WhyKiKi. Each round performers are given challenges and awarded points based on your LOLz. Show starts at 7pm. Tickets are $15.

  • Daybreak’s Got Talent: Prepare for a breathtaking show featuring the unique talents of the residents of Daybreak. At Early Light Academy Auditorium. Starts at 7pm. Tickets are $7.50.

  • Triggers & Slips: at the Hog Wallow. Original country music from Salt Lake City. Starts at 9:30pm.

  • Alternative Nation: at Bar Named Sue in Midvale. Playing all the 90’s hits! Starts at 10pm.

Saturday, March 2nd:

  • 3rd Annual Seed Swap: at the Salt Lake City Public Library. Bring garden seeds to share (or pick some up from our Seed Library and partners) and have fun with all sorts of seed and garden crafts and activities. 11am-4pm. Free.

  • Wasatch Powderkeg: Powderkeg celebrates those that love the backcountry with three days of skimo racing. Three different skimo disciplines will be on display this weekend: vertical, individual, and sprint. At Solitude. March 2nd and 3rd from 8am-2pm. Spectators are welcome at all events and viewing is free.

  • Mobile Adoption Event: Join Salt Lake County Animal Services for a special on-site puppy adoption event at Mark Miller Subaru - Midtown location. 10am-2pm.

  • Art Market Saturday Market: shop in the Public Market for arts and goods from local artisans. Enjoy interactive activities and make free crafts at Millcreek Common. 11am-3pm.

  • So You Think You Can Zoo: This full-day class allows adults 18 years and older to step into the world of zoos and learn about how Utah’s Hogle Zoo cares for its animals. From 9am-4pm. $180.

Sunday, March 3rd:

  • The Bazaar Market: for local creatives in the Public Market at Millcreek Common. Browse and buy high-quality vintage items and handmade crafts. 12pm-5pm.

  • Sip & Slay Drag Brunch: at HK Brewing Collective Taproom & Bar. Sip on delicious drinks while watching some of Salt Lake's most talented drag performers slay the day for a Sunday Funday like no other. Doors open at 12pm. Tickets are $20.

  • Dave Asprey: Come hear about the most exciting findings in health tech and bio hacks and get a chance to have your cell health analysis read by Dave. At Upgrade Labs. 12pm. Tickets are $5.

  • Sunday Guided Meditation: Those in attendance will experience and discuss a different meditation theme each week, which will be followed by the soothing sounds of a crystal bowl sound bath. At Synchronicities. Starts at 3:30pm. Tickets are $20.  

  • Sunday Night Comedy Show: at WhyKiKi. Featuring the Crowdsourced cast playing classic improv games based off your suggestions. 'Who's line is it anyway?’ style. Starts at 7pm. Tickets are $5.

  • Adult Trivia: every Sunday night at the Green Pig Pub. 7pm-9:30pm.
